when I used to sail in England I had always on board a walker trailing log with a small box with 2 AAbatteries, as spare equipment. It was mechanic and electronic at the same time. I am looking everywhere to find it also second hand but it is desappeared. At the London boat show the chandlery stands don't remember about it and on ebay either negative research. Unfortunately I don't live in England actually so my unique chance to find it is throught the internet. Can anybody help me ?

Crusing Croatia / Greece in 2008 5 members

    Created by Mike Hendra

I or my wife and I are interested in sailing in Croatia in 2008. I have a fair ammount of sailig experience but not enough to skipper a rented boat by myself. Something in the 36 to 42 ft range would be OK crewed with 4 to 6 people. Safe comfortable sailing is the aim although there is nothimg wrong will exciting well managed passage sailing. So anyone interested in developing this boat share idea for 2008. Greece might be nice too! Regards Mike Hendra

    charter in turkey 5 members

    Created by Filiz Onat

Yacht charter holidays are becoming more popular recently in Turkey. In opposite to general belief there is a yacht charter in Turkey for every budget. Sailing on a yacht may be the best way to see the unspoiled parts of Turkey and its culture. It is an expression of freedom and adventure. You can choose from large selection of our gulet, motoryachts, catamaran or bareboat yachts to enjoy a memorable yacht charter. Overnight, Alara boats anchor in scenic bays close to the shore, on occasion they will anchor in local harbour towns to collect fresh provisions. During a cruise, you'll have plenty of time to swim in the turquoise clear waters, go ashore by dinghy and tour ruins or stretch your legs in spectacular natural spots, or, if you're feeling energetic, plenty of water sport activities will sharpen your appetite before dinner.

    Fractional Ownership 13 members

    Created by Eric Busse

While many dream of owning a beautiful sailboat, for most, the cost of ownership is beyond either our reach or simply too great for the amount of time we have to sail. Fractional ownership has long been common practice in aviation and with luxury yachts. In sailing, the concept of paying for use as opposed to ownership has seen some success with commercial enterprises like SmartSail, SailTime, and Pinnacle. This group is not about buying a quarter share of a million dollar yacht or paying a monthly fee to rent a boat. It is about sharing information on how to successfully create and manage an ownership partnership of a sailboat with as little stress and financial uncertainty as possible. Suggested topics include: Criteria for selecting partners Criteria for selecting your boat Legal agreements Strategies for managing service and maintenance Expenses and bookkeeping Strategies for scheduling use Managing loss or addition of a partner Welcome Aboard! Sincerely, Eric Busse Seattle, Washington, USA
